What it is
Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition where the body produces sweat far beyond what's needed for temperature regulation. For those who experience it, excessive underarm sweating can affect clothing choices, daily comfort, social confidence, and quality of life - regardless of temperature, activity level, or stress.
Treatment involves small injections of a neurotoxin (the same active ingredient used in Botox) directly into the underarm skin. The medication temporarily blocks the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate sweat glands. The glands stop producing excessive sweat while the rest of your body continues to regulate temperature normally.
At Luxe Forté, hyperhidrosis injections are performed by your injector, who uses precise mapping and dosing technique to ensure thorough, even coverage across the treatment area for maximum effectiveness.
Our Cherry Creek clinic at 36 Steele St, Suite 100 serves hyperhidrosis treatment patients from across Denver - including nearby Cherry Creek North, Country Club, Congress Park, Belcaro, Hilltop, and Hale, as well as Capitol Hill, Washington Park, and the broader Denver metro. Most clients can reach us within a 10-minute drive. We're located on Steele Street directly across from the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, with Fillmore Plaza just steps away.
Many clients also consider Dysport as related options.
What to expect
The appointment takes approximately 30 minutes. your injector will cleanse the underarm area and may use a starch-iodine test to identify the specific zones of heaviest sweating. A series of small injections are placed in a grid pattern across each underarm using an ultra-fine needle.
Most clients describe the sensation as mild pinching - very tolerable without numbing, though topical anesthetic or ice can be applied if preferred. There is no downtime. You can return to normal activities immediately, though we recommend avoiding intense exercise and hot showers for the first 24 hours.
Results typically begin within 3 to 5 days, with full dryness achieved by 2 weeks. The effects last 4 to 6 months for most clients, at which point the treatment can be repeated to maintain results.

Will I sweat more in other areas to compensate?
Compensatory sweating - increased sweating elsewhere on the body - is very rare with underarm neurotoxin injections. The treatment only affects the specific sweat glands injected. Your body has millions of other sweat glands that continue to function normally for healthy temperature regulation.
How do I know if I have hyperhidrosis?
If you frequently sweat through clothing regardless of temperature, avoid certain fabrics or colors because of sweat marks, apply antiperspirant multiple times a day with limited effect, or find that sweating affects your daily comfort and confidence - you are likely a candidate. your injector can assess your level of sweating during a consultation and recommend the appropriate treatment plan.
Is hyperhidrosis treatment FDA-approved?
Yes. Neurotoxin injections for severe underarm sweating have been FDA-approved since 2004. It is one of the most well-studied and established uses of neurotoxin therapy, with over two decades of clinical evidence supporting its safety and effectiveness.
How much does hyperhidrosis treatment cost?
The cost varies based on the dosage needed for your level of sweating, which your injector will determine during your appointment. Many clients find their spending on clinical antiperspirants, dry cleaning, and replacement clothing drops significantly after treatment, offsetting much of the investment.
Is there any downtime after treatment?
There is no downtime. You can return to work and normal activities immediately. We recommend avoiding intense exercise and hot showers for the first 24 hours to allow the neurotoxin to settle into the treatment area.
How long do results last?
Results typically last 4 to 6 months. Many clients schedule treatments twice a year to maintain continuous dryness. Some find that results last longer with repeated treatments over time.
Does the treatment hurt?
Most clients describe the injections as mild pinching. The needles are ultra-fine and each injection takes just a moment. Topical numbing cream or ice can be applied beforehand if you prefer, though many clients find it very tolerable without either.
How effective is hyperhidrosis treatment?
Clinical studies show neurotoxin injections reduce underarm sweating by up to 87%. Most clients experience dramatic improvement - going from sweating through clothing daily to staying dry throughout the day. It is one of the highest-satisfaction treatments in aesthetic medicine.
How does hyperhidrosis treatment work?
A neurotoxin - the same active ingredient used in Botox - is injected in small doses into the underarm skin. It temporarily blocks the nerve signals that tell your sweat glands to activate. The glands stop producing excessive sweat while the rest of your body continues to regulate temperature normally.
What causes excessive underarm sweating?
Hyperhidrosis occurs when the nerves that signal your sweat glands become overactive, triggering sweat production far beyond what your body needs for cooling. It can happen regardless of temperature, stress level, or physical activity, and often runs in families.
