What it is
Lip fillers are hyaluronic acid gels specifically formulated for the lips. Unlike dermal fillers used on cheeks or jawline, lip fillers are softer and contain more water, which gives a more natural-feeling result that moves with your lips instead of sitting static under them.
We work with three primary products, each with a distinct purpose: Juvéderm Volbella for the softest, most subtle result — ideal for hydration and perioral lines. Restylane Kysse for a natural plump with flexibility during expression. Revanesse Versa Lips for more defined shape and border clarity. Elizabeth will recommend the product based on your anatomy, your goal, and what your lips will hold beautifully.
What to expect
Lip filler appointments take about 30 minutes. We apply topical numbing, and the filler itself contains lidocaine — most clients describe the injections as a quick pinch rather than painful. You'll see shape immediately, with swelling that peaks at 24 to 48 hours and fully resolves within a week. Bruising is possible — the lips have a lot of blood supply — so avoid blood-thinning medications, alcohol, and high-dose fish oil for 48 hours before.
After your appointment, avoid kissing, drinking from straws, and heavy exercise for 24 hours. Sleep slightly elevated the first night to reduce swelling. The final result — the shape after swelling resolves — settles in around two weeks.
