What it is
PRP microneedling combines standard microneedling with your own platelet-rich plasma applied to the micro-channels during the procedure. Microneedling creates thousands of openings, and PRP - packed with growth factors and healing proteins - penetrates deeper than it could on intact skin.
The growth factors amplify the wound-healing response that microneedling already triggers. More growth factor signaling means more robust collagen production, faster healing, and enhanced regeneration - particularly effective for acne scars and deeper wrinkles.
Our Cherry Creek clinic at 36 Steele St, Suite 100 serves PRP microneedling patients from across Denver - including nearby Cherry Creek North, Country Club, Congress Park, Belcaro, Hilltop, and Hale, as well as Capitol Hill, Washington Park, and the broader Denver metro. Most clients can reach us within a 10-minute drive. Our Steele Street location sits across from the Cherry Creek Shopping Center in the heart of Cherry Creek North.
Many clients weigh related options like SkinPen Microneedling and RF Microneedling. For dosing, longevity, and aftercare in depth, see our PRP Microneedling Guide.
What to expect
Plan for 60 to 90 minutes. It starts with a blood draw, then centrifuge processing while we numb the treatment area. PRP is applied to the skin and worked into the micro-channels as we needle. Afterward, your skin will be red and may look bloody - it looks more dramatic than it is.
Redness subsides within 24 to 48 hours, skin feels smooth within a week. Results build over 3 to 6 months. We recommend 3 to 6 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart - the PRP-enhanced version tends to show faster initial improvement than standard microneedling.

How many PRP microneedling sessions do I need?
A series of three to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart delivers optimal results for most patients. For deeper scars or more advanced skin concerns, additional sessions may be recommended. Annual maintenance treatments help preserve the collagen improvements long-term.
What is the downtime for PRP microneedling?
Expect two to four days of redness, mild swelling, and skin sensitivity. The PRP can sometimes cause slightly more initial redness than standard microneedling, but many patients find that healing is actually faster thanks to the growth factors. Most patients feel presentable by day three.
How long does a PRP microneedling session take?
The entire appointment takes about sixty to ninety minutes. This includes the blood draw and PRP preparation - about fifteen to twenty minutes - followed by the numbing period, the microneedling treatment itself, and post-treatment PRP application. The actual needling portion is usually thirty to forty minutes.
Is PRP microneedling better than regular microneedling?
Adding PRP to microneedling amplifies results because the concentrated growth factors accelerate healing and enhance collagen production beyond what needling alone achieves. Studies show PRP microneedling produces more significant improvements in texture, scarring, and skin rejuvenation compared to microneedling with standard serums.
What is PRP microneedling and how does it work?
PRP microneedling combines standard microneedling with platelet-rich plasma derived from your own blood. After a small blood draw, we concentrate the growth-factor-rich plasma and apply it during and after microneedling. The microchannels allow the PRP to penetrate deeply, supercharging the healing and collagen-building response.
Is PRP microneedling safe for all skin types?
PRP microneedling is safe for all skin types because it uses mechanical needling with natural growth factors from your own blood, minimizing the risk of allergic reactions, pigmentation changes, or thermal damage. Even patients with sensitive skin, darker skin tones, or previous adverse reactions to other treatments typically tolerate PRP microneedling very well. Using your own biological material makes this treatment exceptionally safe and compatible with virtually any skin type or condition.
How many PRP microneedling treatments are needed?
Most patients see significant improvement after 3-4 PRP microneedling sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart, with continued enhancement as collagen production deepens for several months. Some patients with minor concerns may achieve desired results in 2-3 sessions, while those with extensive scarring or advanced aging might benefit from a series of 4-6 treatments. Your provider will assess your condition and goals to recommend the ideal treatment series for your specific needs.
What skin concerns does PRP microneedling treat?
PRP microneedling is highly effective for acne scars, surgical scars, fine lines, skin texture irregularities, loss of volume, and overall skin rejuvenation. The combination of mechanical needling and growth factors makes it especially powerful for deeper scarring and severe texture concerns that may not fully respond to standard microneedling alone. Patients seeking maximum collagen stimulation and accelerated healing choose PRP microneedling because the added growth factors create noticeably better results compared to microneedling without PRP.
What is PRP microneedling and how does it differ from standard microneedling?
PRP Microneedling combines microneedling with platelet-rich plasma from your own blood to enhance results. The PRP's growth factors accelerate collagen production naturally, offering superior results compared to standard microneedling. This is ideal for those seeking optimized outcomes with natural enhancement.
