What it is
PRP under-eye injections use your own blood to address dark circles, hollowing, and crepey texture beneath the eyes. We draw a small sample, spin it in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and growth factors, then inject that serum into the under-eye area.
PRP is a good option for people who want improvement without filler. It addresses the skin quality component - darkness, thinness, and texture - without the risks associated with filler in this delicate area like Tyndall effect or migration.
Our Cherry Creek clinic at 36 Steele St, Suite 100 serves PRP under-eye patients from across Denver - including nearby Cherry Creek North, Country Club, Congress Park, Belcaro, Hilltop, and Hale, as well as Capitol Hill, Washington Park, and the broader Denver metro. Most clients can reach us within a 10-minute drive. We're located on Steele Street directly across from the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, with Fillmore Plaza just steps away.
Many clients weigh related options like PRP Microneedling. For dosing, longevity, and aftercare in depth, see our PRP Under Eye Guide.
What to expect
The full appointment takes 45 to 60 minutes including blood draw and centrifuge processing. We apply numbing cream before injection. Expect swelling and possible bruising for 2 to 5 days - avoid blood thinners beforehand.
Results are gradual, not instant like filler. You’ll see initial improvement in 2 to 4 weeks with continued improvement over 2 to 3 months. We recommend 2 to 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, with maintenance every 6 to 12 months.

Service FAQs

How many PRP sessions do I need for under-eye circles?
Most patients see optimal results with a series of three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. The effects are cumulative, with each session building on the last. Annual maintenance treatments help preserve results long-term.
How long does it take to see results from PRP under-eye treatment?
Because PRP works by stimulating your body's own regenerative processes, results develop gradually. Most patients notice initial improvement in skin quality within two to three weeks, with continued enhancement over the following two to three months as collagen remodeling progresses.
Can PRP under-eye treatment be combined with other procedures?
Yes, PRP under-eye treatment pairs well with dermal fillers, microneedling, lasers, and other rejuvenation treatments for comprehensive eye area enhancement. Strategic combination creates layered improvement addressing multiple concerns. Our team spaces procedures appropriately for optimal results.
How does PRP under-eye treatment compare to dermal fillers?
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is derived from your own blood and contains growth factors that stimulate healing and collagen production. When injected under the eyes, PRP reduces dark circles, improves texture, and addresses hollowness naturally. Results develop gradually as collagen rebuilds.
Can PRP under-eye injections address under-eye hollowing?
PRP results typically last 12 to 18 months or longer as collagen continues rebuilding naturally. The biological nature of PRP means results continue improving over time. Maintenance treatments help sustain your enhanced appearance indefinitely.
What should I expect during a PRP under-eye appointment?
A PRP under-eye appointment involves a blood draw that's processed to create PRP, which is then injected into the under-eye area using fine needles. The appointment typically takes 45-60 minutes with minimal discomfort and requires no downtime. You'll receive aftercare instructions to optimize your results.
Is there downtime after PRP under-eye injections?
PRP under-eye treatment has minimal downtime with temporary swelling, redness, or bruising that resolves within days. You can return to normal activities immediately, though avoid aggressive massage and intense exercise for 24-48 hours. Most temporary effects resolve significantly by the next day.
How does PRP under-eye treatment address dark circles?
PRP addresses dark circles by improving skin quality under the eyes, thickening the area, and reducing visibility of blood vessels. The growth factors in PRP enhance collagen production and microcirculation, creating a brighter, more rested appearance as collagen remodels over weeks and months.
Is PRP safe and are there any side effects?
PRP is very safe because it's derived from your own blood, eliminating risk of allergic reaction or rejection. The treatment is FDA-cleared and has an excellent safety record when administered by trained professionals. Side effects are typically minimal and may include mild swelling, redness, or slight bruising at injection sites that resolve within days. Because PRP stimulates your body's natural healing response rather than introducing foreign substances, complications are rare. Mild tenderness or sensitivity in the treated area may occur but typically resolves quickly. Avoid aggressive massage or extreme heat exposure for the first 24-48 hours to optimize healing and results.
How many PRP treatments are needed for optimal under-eye results?
Most clients benefit from an initial series of 2-3 PRP treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart to achieve optimal under-eye rejuvenation results. This series allows adequate time for collagen stimulation and tissue regeneration between sessions. After the initial series, maintenance treatments every 6-12 months help sustain your rejuvenated appearance as natural collagen turnover continues. Your individual treatment plan depends on your age, skin quality, under-eye concerns, and how you respond to treatment. Some clients see excellent results after 2 sessions, while others benefit from the full 3-session protocol. Your practitioner will assess your needs and recommend the ideal number of treatments during your consultation.
What is PRP and how does it work for under-eye treatment?
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a regenerative treatment derived from your own blood that contains concentrated growth factors and healing proteins. For under-eye treatment, PRP is carefully injected into the delicate under-eye area to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, and reduce the appearance of hollows and dark circles. The growth factors in PRP promote tissue repair and rejuvenation at the cellular level, leading to natural-looking improvement in under-eye appearance. PRP treatments harness your body's own healing ability, making it a natural, biocompatible approach to addressing tired-looking eyes. Results develop gradually over weeks to months as collagen remodeling occurs.
